From their expansive cattle stations in the Gulf region of Northern Queensland to their state-of-the-art processing plant in the Lockyer Valley, they ensure every cut of beef meets the highest standards.
At their state-of-the-art feedlot (feeding 53,000 head across 2 Wagyu programs, Angus and 100 days on feed cross bred program), they employ best practices to handle their cattle to create a calm and relaxing atmosphere. This includes housing cattle comfortably and providing shelter from the weather, only using horses and people within the feedlot to move cattle.
The Position:

Reporting to the General Manager Feedlot, the Feedlot Livestock Manager is responsible for the operational management of the Feedlot Livestock department. This role requires the implementation of policy, procedures and systems associated with the management of the livestock in the feedlot. Key duties and responsibilities include:
Livestock entries, exits and movements within the feedlot as well as the effective implementation of animal health and husbandry procedures. Management of Feedlot livestock staff including staff rostering and assisting in hiring and individual further development. Coordination of cattle arrival and induction processes as well as coordination of dispatch cattle including liaising with cattle transport companies. Management of cattle backgrounding activities occurring on the feedlot property as well as fence and water trough maintenance in the feedlot and the associated property. Management of cattle to ensure relevant end market specifications are achieved. Ensure safe working conditions for all employees and implementation of WHS policies including compliance with environmental regulation and chemical usage safety. Monitor and record production records as well as report regularly on actual performance. Control all cost of production in line with budget expectation as well as oversee other administrative responsibilities including providing periodic reports and comments on financial performance. Proven background in Livestock Management, ideally within a feedlot environment. Enjoy working with and managing and developing people. Approachable, friendly and helpful disposition. Extremely diligent with excellent attention to detail. Be a decision maker, proactive and on the front foot in regard to planning. Highly organised and efficient in managing time and tasks with the ability to juggle multiple priorities. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Adaptable and ready to learn new software systems. Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
