The role We are looking for a team of young and dynamic Brand Ambassadors who will serve as the face and voice of TAC's Vanessa program which has been designed to educate young drivers about the dangers of risky driving.
In this role your primary focus will be to enhance brand awareness, engage with our target audience and drive education in a peer to peer format across various VIC events and music festivals.
This role helps us:
Raise awareness of TAC's youth focused key road safety messages.Have peer-to-peer conversations with young people to help them understand the risks.Create a highly recognisable and engaging presence at events promoting road safety in a conversational and approachable way.Role model a culture of looking out for your mates on the road, and avoiding putting others at risk.Offer free breath testing.Distribute promotional items.Manage event activities.Capture content in a youth voice, to share on Vanessa socials.Encourage young people to become part of the Vanessa collective by following Vanessa socials (TikTok, Instagram and Facebook) for exclusive content, competitions and road safety tips.Encourage punters to consider buying safe new and used cars by promoting the 'howsafeisyourcar.com.au web platform.Key report/s You will report into the activations and staffing manager and lead producer on this campaign.
Core job responsibilities Brand representation: Act as a positive representative of Vanessa at events and infield community engagement opportunities.Event Participation: Attend various events to connect with our audience delivering key messages and road safety education, as well as staffing our fantastic activations.Compliance and Reporting: Complete vehicle and activation reporting documentation at the beginning and end of each shift as outlined in your brief.Training and development: Following intensive brand training, you will be required to stay knowledgeable across the following topics:Youth risk takingDrink and drug drivingFatigueMobile phones/distractionsSpeedBreath testingVehicle safety features (Howsafeisyourcar.com.au)Our ideal person: Has experience in, and a passion for working onsite brand activations.Is positive, approachable and works well in a team.Willing to work casual hours, on weekends and late nights.Willing to camp overnight at some events (equipment provided).Willing to conduct a Victorian license check.Experience engaging with an 18-25 year old audience.An unrestricted Victorian drivers licence.Experience using Staff Connect.About TAC: The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) is a Victorian Government-owned organisation set up in 1986.
Its role is to pay for treatment and benefits for people injured in transport accidents and to promote road safety, in an effort to reduce road trauma and its impact on the Victorian community.
About Vanessa: Vanessa is the youth arm of the TAC.
Vanessa educates young drivers – the ones overrepresented in road fatalities – about the dangers of risky driving.
The main goal of Vanessa is to create a positive culture within our generation where drivers make safer decisions on the road, and help their mates get home safely.
Vanessa connects with young Victorians to spread important road safety messages peer to peer.
Vanessa hits major festivals, cultural and community events across the state and uses our social media channels to talk about all things road safety.
Vanessa offers free breath testing, safe driving tips, drug and alcohol information, as well as entertainment, games and a seriously nice place to just chill out.
