Contribute to a strong collaborative and supportive cultureManage Section 66 and litigated claimsWork from home and office Newcastle CBD locationThe purpose of this crucial role is to manage permanent impairment and litigation aspects of Workers Compensation claims. The role also involves assessing liability for alleged injuries and consequential conditions which impact permanent impairment and effectively gathering, investigating, and assessing evidence to make soundly based decisions.
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to: Review independent medical assessments and ensure that they are accurate, adhere to relevant legislation and Guidelines, and appropriately address liability issuesEnsure injured workers receive fair compensation for permanent impairment and the ensuing threshold-based entitlementsEnsure employers interests are protected by appropriate investigation and preparation of evidence regarding liability, permanent impairment, and litigationAdhere to the model litigant policy while achieving quality assessment and remuneration targets.Represent the insurer and/or provide instructions in legal proceedings before the Personal Injury Commission and Courts.Manage litigated claims in accordance with icare and SIRA policies and procedures.Skills & Experience: Experience in a technical role within personal injury insurance (Workers Compensation or CTP) e.g., Technical Advisor, Technical Specialist, WPI & Litigation Specialist, IDR SpecialistExperience in managing high risk claims areas such as litigation, WPI, Work Injury Damages, Section 39 claims, Internal Dispute Resolutions within the NSW Workers Compensation Scheme or CTPExperience in drafting and peer reviewing dispute noticesDemonstrated understanding of current Workers Compensation LegislationStrong ability to interpret and apply legislation and case law.Working as part of the Suncorp Group you will have access to an unparalleled range of job opportunities across insurance, banking, wealth management and corporate services.
