Australian MineTech/Software organisation in Brisbane's CBD seeking FIFO Linux SysAdminYour new companyA leading Australian MineTech/Software organisation headquartered in Brisbane's CBD are seeking a Linux SysAdmin for an ongoing contract (with view to extend due to the pipeline of work) to lead the deployment of their technology products across several QLD coal sites! This role will be in the form of a FIFO working model with flights conducted from Brisbane on varying rosters.Your new roleEstablished several years ago in the heart of Brisbane's CBD, this organisation designs, builds and deploys custom computer vision software across safety critical industries (mining, manufacturing, logistics, etc). Built using a combination of AI, cloud technologies, big data and custom hardware, this company's product suite helps organisations avoid incidents by recognising risks before they happen. Such examples of this product suite include telematics, temperature gauging and hyperspectral analysis among others.Given the success of this company they are seeking a Linux SysAdmin on a contractual basis to help assist their customers deploy and integrate their solutions on site. Focusing on the mining domain, this role will see you travel to coal sites from Moranbah to Emerald in Central QLD to work not just with end users, but to partner and onboard each site.With much of the hardware already integrated on each site, you will deploy this company's software products and integrate these with each site's existing Cisco infrastructure. Not working alone, you will work with this company's Field Technicians alongside liaising with their corporate based engineering teams.From a high level, you will be responsible for onsite product deployment (using Docker and Ubuntu), configuration and troubleshooting (with Ubuntu in conjunction with Cisco switches/hardware), and coordination with this company's engineers to ensure each system is online and running.Initially starting in their Brisbane head office for product training for the first few weeks, the rest of this position will see you travel to sites throughout the central QLD region. Working on a FIFO (Fly In, Fly Out) basis from Brisbane, the rosters on offer vary to include as 8:6 (8 days on, 6 days off), 4:3 (4 days on, 3 days off), 5:2, etc. These rosters will see you stay at each site in central QLD during your rotation (with all flights, accommodation and meals paid for by the company) and returned back to Brisbane once the rotation is complete.Ideally having a Standard11 (S11) and a CBM (Coal Board Medical), this is an immediate start.What you'll need to succeedYou will need experience/knowledge across the following:Linux and its ecosystem (preferably Ubuntu v18/v20, however other variants are acceptable)NOTE: Due to limited internet connectivity on each site documentation/online resources may not be accessible so in-depth Linux/Unix understanding is requiredDocker and its ecosystemCisco hardware configuration (Switches)Whilst not a necessity, Apache Kafka and experience with WebSockets would be advantageousTechnical mindsetWorking with individuals across all levels of an organisationClear spoken and written communication skillsSite based mining experience (due to the nature of the projects)Current S11 and CBM highly advantageousWhat you'll get in returnYou will be offered an initial FIFO contract role (with view to extend due to the pipeline of work) with a leading Australian MineTech/Software organisation headquartered in Brisbane's CBD with all flights, accommodation and meals (when on site) paid for.What you need to do nowIf you are interested in this role, click 'apply now' or email an up-to-date resume to ******.
