Your future role within QRT
As a Performance Engineer in QRT's infrastructure team, you will work on x86 hardware, the Linux operating system, and all the tuning necessary to help us achieve our low-latency trading goals. Successful candidates will be able to clearly explain a tuning strategy and describe components necessary to verify and achieve this result.
Your present skillset RedHat 9, Debian/Ubuntu familiarity: able to build a custom system using a commercial distribution as a base image Linux kernel.org version 6+: configure/tune/build/package the kernel Bash, python, gcc, familiarity with C and building open source packages Rpm building: able to get just about anything working and assembled in clean, portable packages Support systems for FPGA: firmware loading, monitoring, test scripts, automation Familiarity with Intel hardware, internals, tuning Overclocking Intel CPUs: understanding of hardware capabilities (CPUs, DDR4/5 tuning, etc) Documentation and "Test hygiene": able to clearly explain control systems, test harnesses, and scientific approach to testing Good-to-Have Arch Linux, Raspbian Embedded systems/ARM64 C++ Expert-level github/git labs/bitbucket/fisheye or similar tools for managing source control Solarflare, Mellanox, or similar network interface tuning
