Employed by Webuild, the role on offer is a full-time role based on-site along the alignment of St Marys to Bradfield (dependent on what scope you are managing), however initially you will start out at Badgerys Creek.
This is an ideal next step opportunity for someone who has a strong background in mechanical engineering in tunnels on large infrastructure projects and obtains the ability to interface with other departments (Construction, Electrical, Support Functions etc) seamlessly.
Responsibilities: Review the Mechanical design packages focusing on the compliance with contractual and standard requirement. Provide technical support to the broader MEP team and Linewide team in the coordination of meetings with designers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders. Support the interface relating to mechanical systems, rail systems and rolling stock with our O&M JV partners and other stakeholders. Interface regularly with our internal discipline leads and design teams. Support the QS Team in the quantity take-off. Assist the Procurement Team with technical queries during the bidding stage. Manage and follow up subcontractors and manufacturers in the preparation and review of material submittals. Review working drawings and provide insight and feedback. Manage the process for DCRs, FCRs, NCRs. Liaise with Subcontractors and manufactures in the preparation and review of Test Procedures and Plans. Provide technical support to Construction team on aspects related to the installation phase. Provide input and technical support in troubleshooting and problem-solving during T&C. Lead delivery of high-quality outcomes across the project as part of multi-disciplinary teams. Ensure compliance of the works with technical specifications, applicable legislation, approvals, and standards. Support the Project's requirements in delivering a project aligning with our Safety, Quality, Regulatory, Legislative, Environmental, Safety and cost requirements. Provide support on planning the use of materials, resources, components or systems within the project to ensure project success, value for money and best practice are achieved. Criteria: Recognised tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering (or similar field). Minimum 2+ years of experience working in a Mechanical Engineer or Site Engineer role. Experience working in tunnels (ideal). Excellent written & oral communication skills. Ability to plan and execute competing priorities seamlessly. What's next?
