Dates: The Show runs from September 25th – November 10th 2024.
Pre-event shifts begin September 16th - September 24th 2024.
Weekday Shifts range between the hours of 3pm – 11:30pm.
Weekend shifts start time may vary starting 9:30am-10:30pm.
Location: Under the Big Top - Next to Royal Queensland Golf Course, 431 Curtin Ave W, Eagle Farm, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, 4009.
To be considered for this opportunity you MUST be available to work 4-5 days a week regularly over the duration of the shows (Show dates: Wednesday to Sunday). This includes evenings and weekend shifts.
Working Hours: 35 – 40 Hours, 5 days per week (Subject to change according to the show schedule).
Primary responsibilities include: Prepare food for service to Cirque's employees (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces). Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff. Ensure the variety and quality of the servings; answer, report, and follow Cirque chef's instructions. Clean up station and take care of leftover food. Stock inventory appropriately. Ensure that food comes out in high quality and in a timely fashion. Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards. Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers. Help oversee prep cook's duties and tasks. The ideal candidate will: Must be available to work as late as midnight (mostly evening shifts). Minimum 2 years full-time experience at a high-volume restaurant or catering company as a chef-de-partie, demi-chef, or commis chef. Must be willing to assist in putting away deliveries, organizing, and cleaning the kitchen. Must be comfortable with menus that change daily, as well as cooking different cuisines. Experience working in the grill and sauté section is essential. Experience working in the larder section is an advantage. Must be willing to assist in any other cleaning tasks, including cleaning different kitchen equipment (ovens, hoods, etc.) as directed by the Cirque chefs. Have access to their own knives and aprons. Available to work 5 days a week, including weekends, early mornings, and late nights during the entire city run. Reasonable knowledge of English and the language of the Market. Have a Valid White Card or willing to obtain one if successful in the role. Interviews will be held in person (Dates TBC).
