We're searching for a dynamic Line Chef / Cook to join our culinary team at the Mackay Entertainment & Convention Centre.

What You'll Be Doing:
Prepare a variety of delicious meals across multiple kitchen stations – pantry, fry, and more!
Ensure all dishes are prepared according to recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications set by the Executive Sous Chef.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen, following strict sanitation procedures.
Handle special dietary requests, ensuring dishes meet customer food allergies or intolerance requirements.
Ensure meals are cooked and plated efficiently and on time, especially during peak service periods.
Be a key part of the team, collaborating with your colleagues to keep the kitchen running smoothly.
What We're Looking For:
Someone with a love for cooking and a strong understanding of kitchen operations.
The ability to stay calm and composed under pressure in a busy kitchen environment.
A team player who can collaborate with others to deliver a top-tier dining experience.
Willingness to follow food safety protocols and maintain high sanitation standards.
A high threshold for working in a heated environment – the kitchen can be hot, but the rewards are even hotter!
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
1+ year of hands-on experience in a bustling commercial kitchen.
Senior level Secondary School education.
Excellent communication, top-notch time management, and strong teamwork skills.
Tech-savvy with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and email.
Physically fit—able to stand for long hours and lift up to 20kg.
Solid knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and cost control.
A professional diploma in food services management is a plus!
