You will be responsible for delivering quality teaching and learning experiences to support the learning needs of students with specific learning difficulties and high intellectual potential, focusing on early identification and intervention. You will work collaboratively with the other members of the P-12 Learning Enrichment team maintaining a cohesive whole school approach.
You will possess the ability to embrace innovative teaching practices in a caring and inclusive manner.
The successful candidate will also be keen to play an active role in the classroom, in pastoral care, co-curricular and in the broad life of the School community.
Salary offered will be commensurate with the successful applicant's skills, qualifications and experience and will be based on the teaching salaries in the Independent Schools NSW Teachers (Hybrid Model) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2021 .
Desired Skills and ExperienceResponsibilities Identifying student needs utilising a range of diagnostic tools including but not restricted to PAT testing; AGAT; CoGAT & NAPLAN Providing teaching and learning experiences which meet specific needs and are based on sound understanding and knowledge of current pedagogical practices in special education and gifted educationProviding in-class support for individual and small groups of studentsManaging teacher aides: allocation and timetabling, professional development and mentoringMaking provisions for enrichment opportunities for gifted and talented students both within the formal curriculum and in co-curricular and external enrichment programsProvide pastoral care for all students, particularly for students with additional needsSelection Criteria: Demonstrated expertise in special and gifted education: Comprehensive knowledge of current pedagogical practices, diagnostic tools and intervention modelsProven ability to design, implement, and evaluate teaching strategies and programs tailored to the needs of students with specific learning difficulties and those with high intellectual potentialSolid understanding of how to analyse data in relation to student progress and teaching effectiveness.Strong skills in managing processes such as Individual Plans, NCCD data collation, NAPLAN special provisions, and referrals for Learning Enrichment.Experience with managing teacher aides and the acquisition and organisation of resources to enhance learning outcomes.Commitment to continuous improvement in and out of the classroom.Have appropriate ICT skills and a preparedness to integrate ICT skills into the learning process.Have an understanding of and commitment to the Anglican Christian ethos of the School.To apply for this role, please click on the Apply link by Wednesday, 27 November.
