Located southwest of Townsville, the Pajingo mine is around 50km from Charters Towers and employs approximately 250 people to run the underground mining, open cut, and ore processing operations.
As theLight Vehicle Mechanic you will contribute to the optimisation of the performance, availability, and safety of the light vehicle and mobile equipment fleet by performing preventative and breakdown repairs. The role isresidential,based inCharters Tower s orDIDO (Accommodation Provided) working on a7/7 roster .
The key responsibilities for the role include to: Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs, including diagnosis and troubleshooting, on all light vehicles and other ancillary equipment Assist the Mechanical Fitters, especially during shutdowns, to conduct repairs and maintenance to the fixed plant Assist other members of the maintenance department as required including the Service Fitters to conduct dewatering activities and maintenance Accurately record all work carried out and book out parts correctly Set up and operate hand and power tools common to mechanical trades including pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric tools Use, maintain, and store all equipment in an appropriate manner Detect faulty operation of equipment and/or defective materials or products and notify supervisors Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and look for improvement opportunities Respond to callouts as required. About you: Mechanical Trade Certificate 3 years of experience working on light vehicles 1 years experience working on a mine site Confine Spaces, working at heights ticket and Crane ticket (Desirable) As part of our process, you will be required to complete pre-employment checks medical which include a drug and alcohol screen, and obtain a police clearance.
