Light Vehicle Mechanic - 3 Year Project (Northern Territory)Q H & M Birt Pty Ltd (QBirt) is a leading civil construction contractor, operating Australia's largest civil earthmoving fleet. We are currently seeking experienced Light Vehicle Mechanics for a 3-year project in the Northern Territory, starting in January. This project is located within a 3-hour drive from Darwin.At QBirt, we believe the economic benefits of long-term projects should stay within the local community, not just 'fly out' with the workforce. Position Details: Roster: 2:1Employment Type: Full-time, permanentBenefits: Accommodation, standard employment entitlements, including overtime penalty rates, and a generous loyalty bonus upon completion of 12 months of service.Fleet: Modern, top-quality equipment.Key Responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance and inspections on light vehicles, including utility vehicles, 4WDs, and other site vehicles.Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.Conduct regular safety checks to ensure vehicles meet company and industry standards.Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.Collaborate with mechanics and other departments for timely vehicle servicing.Essential Requirements: Relevant trade qualificationCurrent manual driver's licence and full Australian working rightsExperience servicing light vehicles per scheduled maintenance plansAbility to diagnose faults and breakdowns in light vehiclesStrong attention to detail and time management skillsProven experience working with light vehicle fleets, including Landcruiser, Hilux, Ranger, HiAce buses, and Isuzu 4x4sExposure to OEM Service Manual documentationAbility to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screeningWhile January may feel distant, mobilising a team takes time.
