Victory Minerals Pty Ltd is a successful gold explorer and producer in Victoria's gold belt. The company has entered an exciting new era, under new ownership and exploring new opportunities. The primary focus is our high-grade underground gold mine in Ballarat, which started producing gold in December 2005, and consistently produces 30,000 to 40,000 ounces of gold per year.The mine is located within the beautiful regional town of Ballarat (located just 100km west of Melbourne), which is experiencing unprecedented growth and development.Role:We are currently seeking a Light Vehicle (LV) Fitter to join the Mobile Plant Maintenance team at our Ballarat Mine site. This is the perfect opportunity to get into Mining Maintenance, or be close to home.This position reports to Mobile Plant Leading Hands.Roster: 7:7, Wednesdays to TuesdaysHours: 12-hour shifts, 7am-7pm Day shift only.The key responsibilities in this role will be the safe and productive performance of a variety of duties including:Responding to machinery breakdowns promptly and undertake quality repairs in a timely manner.Rectifying machinery breakdowns in an underground environment promptly and undertake quality repairs in a timely manner.Undertaking scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance of the Light Vehicle fleet.Diagnosis of faults and recommending servicing interventions that improve the operational efficiency of the Light Vehicle fleet.Ensuring completion of all shift paperwork including service sheets, work orders and daily shift reports.To be successful in this role:Relevant Automotive Trade qualification and current manual drivers licence.Substantial experience in the maintenance and repair of four-wheel drive vehiclesDemonstrated ability in 12V electrical system diagnosis.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment.Commitment to a respectful and cooperative work environment in line with company policies and expectations.Previous experience in Mining industry is preferred, but not essential.Backgrounds in agriculture or heavy earth moving are desirable.Previous experience in parts ordering using an ERP system (such as Pronto)Centrally located in booming Ballarat, no FIFO and be close to home every nightExcellent remuneration and benefitsFree on-site car parkingUniforms provided and full laundered on siteState-of-the-art workshop, includes heated flooringOn the job training and supportFlexible, supportive, and great team environmentOn-site gym and other health benefits including EAPThis is a rare opportunity to combine a rewarding and challenging role, exceptional lifestyle offerings, all in a diversity-focused mining business.
