We are enhancing the rosters that are on offer across our Area C mine site, on the Traditional Lands of the Banjima People in Western Australia's Pilbara.
We are moving our Mining Production teams from a 2/1 roster to a 2 week on, 2 week off, 12-hour day and night shift FIFO roster to start in 2025.
This means more days at home to enjoy doing what you love.
The outstanding facilities at the FIFO village include; a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, netted cricket pitch, tennis and basketball court, beach volleyball court and recreation room including a pool table, darts, table tennis, TV and DVD player.
About the OpportunityTo support this change, the Area C Integrated Maintenance Equipment (IME) team is seeking expressions of interest from experienced individuals interested in joining our world class operation on the 2/2 roster combination as Light Vehicle Mechanic/ Heavy Road Transport Auto Electrician.
Reporting to the Auxiliary Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for the repairs and maintenance to highway going trucks, light vehicles, lighting plants, and other critical mobile equipment within the Auxiliary department to ensure the efficiency of operations.
Your primary duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Conduct complex auto electrical diagnostics and maintenance activities/ repairs on Light Vehicles and Auxiliary equipment including a fleet of Trucks (Scania/Fuso's), light vehicles (e.g., Toyota), buses, cranes, telehandlers, trailers, welders, compressors, lighting plants, EWP's, forklifts (Hyster/ Manitou).Contribute to our safety and continuous improvement culture, BHP Operating Systems (BOS), by being pro-active and demonstrating a commitment to high standards of execution within your trade.Operate mobile equipment within limits of competence, training and experience.Ensure accurate completion of technical documentation, reports and drawings as required.Use of computerized maintenance systems (SAP) including time confirmations, raising notifications and closing work orders.About YouAs the successful candidate you will possess the following:
Australian recognised Automotive Electrician Trade Qualification (Heavy Industry).Strong auto electrical maintenance experience with sound diagnostic abilities.Experience working on Scania, Toyota, Mobile cranes, Mitsubishi (ideal).Experience within Mining industry preferred, however agricultural or heavy industry will be considered.Ability to work off schematic drawings.Strong presentation, communication and coaching skills and the ability to work closely in a team environment.As this is an expression of interest, your skills and qualifications will be reviewed in line with available opportunities as they become available.
