$115,479 – $128,136 per year plus 15% superFull-time until 30 June 2025 with the possibility of extension of up to 30 June 2027Salary Range - $115,479 - $128,136 plus 15% superannuationAbout the roleWe have an exciting and unique opportunity for a Light Rail Site Supervisor to join Icon Water. Reporting to Icon Water's Development Projects Coordinator, this role will be embedded within the Transport Canberra's Light Rail project team and is responsible for the surveillance, inspection, and protection of Icon Water network assets likely to be impacted by the construction of the Light Rail Phase 2 Project and other major projects as determined by the Development Projects Coordinator.Please note: This role may require out of hours and weekend attendance depending on construction activity.About your new roleKey responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:Manage aspects of planned work scheduling and reporting for designated portions of the water and wastewater pipeline network throughout Icon Water's operations within the Light Rail Project and other major projects as determined by the Development Projects Coordinator.Provide specialised project surveillance work and input in either a functional or advisory capacity in relation to design, development, and construction work.Review contractors' work methods, job safety and environment analysis, and inspection and test plans when required by the Development Projects Coordinator.Plan and undertake site inspections and report to the Development Projects Coordinator and clients detailing progress, including final inspection of assets on completion of the Defects Liability Period and issue final certificate of operation.Work collaboratively within the Light Rail project team to address issues and risks encountered during construction.Ensure that design integrity and designer obligations and liabilities are maintained through endorsed design change control procedures.Observe and provide advice to external contractors engaged in excavation, construction works, and survey potholing within the vicinity of Icon Water and sewer assets to ensure their protection. Manage and coordinate network protection and Before You Dig Australia (BYDA) day-to-day activities to meet objectives and in agreement with external parties.Ensure that all project documentation and asset information is recorded and managed in accordance with Icon Water's document management processes and asset information requirements.Record and report all project records/correspondence, existing asset material, external lining, condition, and cover of mains during inspection in accordance with Icon Water standard internal filing procedures.Advise and inform the Development Projects Coordinator and other relevant Icon Water staff of constraints on matters that may impact on the business.Attend regular Group and inter-Group meetings to report and provide complete and timely status reports on works programs and report other related Light Rail Project issues.Ensure compliance with Icon Water Health Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.Actively consult with other Icon Water staff and work as a team member in support of shared responsibilities.Other duties within the employee's skill, competence, and training.Our ideal candidate will possess:Technical, plumbing or trade qualifications (Minimum Certificate 3 or equivalent) combined with experience in the industrial, manufacturing, or utility service delivery environment.Extensive experience in Civil Engineering construction and knowledge of water and sewerage asset operations, maintenance, and construction.Experience in reading maps and understanding and interpreting technical drawings and documents relating to water and sewerage networks.Knowledge and commitment to relevant workplace health and safety legislation, regulations, obligations, and requirements.Confined Space, General Construction Induction (White Card), and Asbestos Awareness Training.A current Australian Drivers Licence.Knowledge of Water Services Association Australia (WSAA) Standards, Australian Conduit Condition Evaluation Manual, and other applicable Australian Standards.Knowledge and understanding of Icon's water supply and sewerage standards, relevant codes of practice, and industry standards.Sound knowledge of ACT Public Works "Basic Specifications" and Transport Canberra and City Services (TCCS) Design Standards for Urban Infrastructure.Experience in using location systems and equipment, methods, and techniques used in the water and sewerage industry.Computer literacy skills including competency in the use of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.Attributes and skillsAchievement oriented.
