Lifestyle Facilitator (Disability Support Worker)We are on the search for casual members to join our Lifestyle Facilitator (Disability Support Worker) team to work with our clients in Bowen.
As a Lifestyle Facilitator, no day is the same. You will be assisting our clients to live their best and most independent life as possible. You will help them to achieve their own personal goals, which will mean providing support in areas of daily living, social support, and personal care (including showering and toileting).
The successful applicant will: Possess a genuine passion for working with people.Be reliable, flexible, and committed to assisting people to achieve their goals and live their best life.Maintain exceptional professional standards of care and support.Have own vehicle with full comprehensive insurance and be willing to use it to transport clients; all allowances will be paid when using your own vehicle.Be available for 24/7 shifts, including sleepovers; therefore, good availability across the week would be advantageous.Key Selection Criteria: Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support is highly desirable but not essential. Personal experience will also be considered.Demonstrated exceptional communication skills and ability to complete records and documentation accurately.Be able to follow instructions and adhere to policies and procedures effectively.Willingness to work as part of a team and at times, independently.Sound knowledge of the NDIS practice standards.Current First Aid and CPR certificates.Current NDIS Worker Screening (yellow card) and Working with Children Check (blue card) - or willingness to obtain these.Be vaccinated for Covid-19 (at least 2 doses).Completed free NDIS orientation modules:Quality Safety and YouSupporting Safe and Enjoyable MealsSalary packaging and extensive face-to-face and online training are available, offered by Spinal Life Australia and National Disability Services.
