About the Home MilduraA modern care home in the heart of the regional town of Mildura, Victoria. It is surrounded by lakes and the Murray River. It consists of 100 beds, with various care units. You will manage a team of recreational activity officers responsible for promoting emotional and physical rehabilitation through person-first recreational activities that promote holistic wellbeing, including providing residents with quality care, and actively supporting them to maintain their skill level, independence and mobility and providing respite support to their family/carers.In addition to overseeing the Person-First Leisure and Lifestyle Program and the team of recreational activity officers, you will be required to perform the role of the Recreational Activity Officer, alongside the Activity Officers within the care home.DutiesManage all Recreational Activities Officers with excellent team leadershipProvide residents with quality care and actively support them to maintain their skill levels, independence and mobility and provide respite support to their family/carersWork collaboratively with other team members to effectively plan and organise all recreational activity programsEnsure individual resident's needs, values, spiritual and cultural preferences are taken into account when providing recreational careComplete documented assessments which determine and clearly state capabilities, needs and problemsComply with infection control and work health and safety standardsSkills and ExperienceCert IV in Leisure and Lifestyle is desirable, degree level qualifications highly regardedPrevious experience gained in a similar roleSenior First Aid Certificate is essentialPrevious experience in caring for the elderly within an aged or community care settingHighly developed organisation and time management skillsThe ability to solve problems independentlyExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAn understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and OutcomesCultureWe all share the same purpose at Bupa Aged Care.
