We are seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team as a Lifeguard at Lancing College. As a Lifeguard, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and public visitors during their visit to the pool.
Job Title: Lifeguard (Zero Hours)
Reporting to: Swimming Pool Manager
Key Responsibilities: Maintain a vigilant watch over swimmers, identifying and responding promptly to any potential emergencies or unsafe situations.Enforce pool rules and regulations to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all users.Provide first aid and CPR as needed and have a strong understanding of emergency response procedures and Lancing College's PSOP.Conduct regular inspections and cleaning of the pool area, including the pool deck, changing rooms, and surrounding areas.Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as checking water quality, temperature, and chemical levels, and report any issues to the appropriate authorities.Assist in organizing and conducting swimming lessons or other aquatic programs, as required.Communicate effectively with colleagues, students, and visitors, providing clear and concise instructions and guidance when necessary.Stay updated on lifeguarding techniques, procedures, and safety protocols through regular training and professional development.Person Specifications: Possess a National Pool Lifeguard qualification.Proven experience as a lifeguard, demonstrating strong water rescue and first aid skills.Excellent observation, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to remain calm and act decisively in emergency situations.Physical fitness and stamina to perform the duties of a lifeguard, including extended periods of standing and swimming.Knowledge of pool maintenance and safety procedures.Responsible and dependable, with a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness.Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and establish positive relationships with colleagues and pool users.Application Procedure: Applications should be made using the application form.
