About the Role:
As the Quality Technician – Regional, you will play a pivotal and hands-on role in ensuring the quality and reliability of products as part of our mining operations. Based in Perth, you will be directly involved in the resolution of quality issues on new machine builds by working with the local team and factory. Additionally, you will be expected to uphold quality assurance standards, conduct audits, address non-conformances and collaborate across teams.
Skills and Duties: With an early January 2025 start, you will be required to:
Conduct inspections of OEM and third-party products, address non-conformances and ensure compliance with quality standards. Perform audits during machine commissioning, navigate key build pad systems, investigate product failures with 8D analysis, understand technical specifications and drawings, and liaise with the factory to expedite resolutions and enhance operations. Support non-conformance investigations, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions to eliminate recurring quality issues. Promote best practices in quality assurance by collaborating with stakeholders on process, equipment management, and compliance initiatives. Train employees on quality management systems, ISO 9001 standards, and quality reporting protocols (PAR) while maintaining accurate QA records and documentation. Requirements: To be successful in this position, you will have:
Experience in Quality Assurance/Control or Mechanical Engineering disciplines and familiarity with manual measurement equipment and technical drawings. Analytical mindset and proficiency in root cause analysis, process mapping, audits, waste elimination, and problem-solving methodologies. Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and quality management systems along with good Microsoft Office skills, and a collaborative work style. Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, with an ability to deliver training and provide technical advice.
