Primary objective: Provide a range of services associated with administration support for the Senior Director, alongside administrative functions relating to issuing of licences, permits, registrations and authorities across a broad range of legislative frameworks administrated by the Liquor Licensing work unit.
Key duties and responsibilities: Under the direction of the Southern Region Manager and Principal Licensing Officer, support licence applications and permits, including assessment and recommendation for grant or refusal.Update and maintain the licensing systems and databases for regulatory and performance reporting requirements.Provide advice to applicants and other stakeholders regarding licence and permit applications/renewals and on other matters regulated by the licensing unit.Prepare licensing and permit related correspondence, including renewal advice.Provide administrative assistance as required in the regulation to the activities of the work unit.Prepare information for the Directors as required.Selection criteria: Essential: Proven experience in providing administrative support with high attention to detail, sound judgement, the ability to maintain confidentiality and a clear understanding of the need for tact and diplomacy.Ability to interpret and apply legislation within a regulatory framework.Experience using various software packages including Microsoft Word and Excel, and database applications.Sound oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.Ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.Sound organisation skills, ability to use initiative and work with limited supervision.Desirable: Understanding and/or experience working in a regulatory legislative environment.Current Driver Licence.Further information: Successful applicants will be required to submit a criminal history check.
