About the Role The Library at Trinity Christian School provides a creative and comprehensive learning and teaching space for students in Years P – 12. Staff and students have access to a wide range of varied resources that are regularly updated.
The Library Technician is part of the School's administration team and works as part of a team that provides an innovative, efficient, helpful and friendly service to the school community. Service is provided in a manner that is God honouring and consistent with the school's vision to provide a Christ-centred education in a learning community of Love, Nurture and Service.
The Library Technician is responsible to the Principal through the Information Services Coordinator and the Business Manager.
A part-time position for 45 weeks per year, with an additional 4 weeks annual leave. Work weeks include the first week of the student term break at the end of Terms 1, 2 and 3 as well as 2 weeks before students return to school for Term 1.
Essential Criteria Appropriate qualifications, experience and demonstrated competence in library technical supportProvides advice and assistance to the Information Services Coordinator, in the purchase of resources and processing resources for loanWorks closely with the Information Services Coordinator to develop and align an online presence to meet the school's educational goalsExcellent communication skills, both spoken and writtenPossess excellent computer skills including Microsoft OfficeManage and administer library services to staff, students and parents that help to meet the educational goals set by the schoolSound ability to work with various online programs e.g. TV4ed, Booking system, Outlook calendar, 3D printing etc. and to train other library staff in these areasHave an excellent understanding of all database services and online resourcesHave an awareness of the current Copyright standards for schoolsMaintain digital resources to ensure that they are accessibleOversee the stocktaking process of the library and departmental resourcesAttend professional development courses to ensure best library principles and practiceApplication Process Applicants are required to complete the online application form at www.tcs.act.edu.au/employment and provide an Expression of Interest and Curriculum Vitae.
