Cloncurry Shire Council is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Library Services Coordinator to join the team, benefits include: 5 weeks Annual Leave RDO's Remote Area Housing Allowance Personal (Sick) Leave Salary $75k - $77k (plus OT/TOIL) per annum dependent on qualifications & experience ABOUT THE ROLE As the Library Services Coordinator for the Cloncurry Shire Council, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the Bob McDonald Library and the Dr. David Harvey-Sutton Art Gallery. You will report to the Community & Cultural Services Manager within the Community Services and Economic Development Department, you will be responsible for a diverse range of duties aimed at delivering excellence in customer service and fostering community engagement. These duties include actively participating in strategic planning, providing friendly information and reference assistance to library clients, developing and delivering integrated community programs and events, managing budgets and funding applications, maintaining library resources to required standards, coordinating staff rosters, monitoring visitation and art gallery exhibitions, ensuring compliance with council policies and procedures, and fostering positive cultural change within the workforce. Additionally, you will utilise your strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and contribute to the continuous improvement of library and gallery services. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES IN THIS ROLE Actively participate in policy development and strategic planning for Cloncurry Shire Council's library and gallery services. Collate monthly Council reports for the Library and Gallery. Deliver excellence in customer service experiences to all library and gallery users by ensuing the professional presentation of library and gallery spaces. Identify and apply for funding through grant applications, sponsorships, and partnerships to improve service delivery outcomes. Research, develop, implement, and evaluate a suite of integrated community programs and events that support literacy, learning, the arts, social inclusion, cultural development, and that are responsive to community needs. Build collaborative partnerships by liaising with individuals, community groups, educational institutions, key stakeholders, the wider community, and other library staff throughout the state to enhance relationships and program outcomes. Provision of leadership to the Library and Gallery team and ability to work collaboratively with all areas of Council to achieve shared goals. QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND LICENCES REQUIRED Mandatory: Hold and maintain a current manual 'C' class driver's licence. Experience in development, implementation and evaluation of programs, exhibitions, and events. Possession of a positive notice Blue Card (for working with children) or the ability to acquire. Current police check / clearance Desirable: Tertiary Qualifications in Gallery Management, Museum Studies or Library and Information Services, or equivalent qualification/experience, or the willingness to progress towards soon after appointment. Previous experience in public libraries, cultural administration or project management will be highly regarded.
