You will also be required to liaise with customers, both internal and external, and train controllers to ensure that schedules are met.Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Operating Pacific National Locomotives while adhering to safe working regulations and requirements of driver accreditation in a heavy haul operating environment.Liaising with Train Control regarding the operation of the train schedules and efficiencies; andProactively working towards and supporting the achievement of safety goalsProvisioning and preparing locomotives for train operations including checking and testing control systems as well as preparing relevant compliance documentationPerforming minor maintenance and being responsible for first level locomotive servicing and provisioning activities.About YouTo be successful in this role you will be currently accredited and fully qualified as a locomotive driver, preferably (but not essential) with RCS safe working qualifications, as well as possess an unrestricted Queensland Drivers Licence. ECP and/or Distributed Power experience also advantageous, while you will be able to work well within a team environment as well as autonomously at times.You will also have:Proven locomotive driving experience as a Qualified Locomotive DriverCurrent Certificate 4 in Train DrivingHigh regard for safetyPositive and supportive attitude when working within a team environmentBasic level of computer literacyFocused on customer needs and supporting continuous improvementWillingness to undertake ongoing training and development activities is a mustThe BenefitsWe value diversity, inclusion, collaboration and the contribution of each of our employees.
