About the roles
Vacancies currently exist for legal administrative roles to support lawyers across each of our practice groups (AGS Commercial, the Office of General Counsel and AGS Dispute Resolution).
Our lawyers work with a wide range of Commonwealth agencies and provide specialist legal advice on some of the largest and most sensitive matters affecting the Australian Government. In this role your duties will include working with legal support staff and lawyers to prepare legal documents and general administrative tasks.

About you
All roles require an ability to work full-time. 
Administrative Assistant (APS2) and Legal Administrative Assistant (APS3)
To succeed in these roles, you will have:
good attention to detail and a professional approach  good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once good written and verbal communication skills and judgement the ability to deliver high quality customer service good knowledge of common software applications (e.g. Word, Outlook, Adobe) the ability to be flexible and work as part of a team  excellent word processing skills with a high level of accuracy. APS Level 2 roles are entry level positions. Previous administrative support experience is not essential, although it would be an advantage. 
Previous administrative support experience is required if applying at the APS3 Level. 
Legal Assistant (APS4)
This role will suit an experienced Legal Assistant that will ideally have:
at least 2 years' legal assistant experience a genuine commitment to client service good judgement and the ability and willingness to take on a variety of tasks well-developed written and oral communication skills an interest in undertaking training and development to learn new skills experience in the preparation of legal documents including contracts, reports, property documents and templates to a high professional standard excellent word processing skills with an average of 80+ words per minute and a high level of accuracy experience preparing and reviewing invoices and entering time into billing systems in a legal firm.
