THE OPPORTUNITY National Self Insurance is an arm of EML that caters to employer's who are self-insured for their workers compensation requirements and have partnered with EML to administer their claims management function.

Our Legal Specialist will manage litigation while undertaking legal research for our National Self Insurance Business unit, ensuring EML performance targets and organisational objectives are met with a high level of service delivery to our stakeholders.
This will be a permanent, full time position based in either our Sydney or Parramatta office, with flexibility to work from home once fully trained.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Provide legal advice on legislative, regulatory, legal, policy and guideline requirements that affecting workers compensation claims and employer premium to enable sound, evidence-based and legally accurate decision making.Manage, assist and review legal advice including common law damages claims and statutory workers compensation benefits.Develop practical technical advice to provide coaching and training support around strategic management, both generally and in relation to specific claims.Create and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders, including self-insured clients, internal clients and the management team by displaying the EML way values and behaviours. ABOUT YOU Excellent understanding of the Workers compensation legislation and the associated regulations (old legislation and amendments).Preferably 3 years Post Qualification Experience, including legal practice in a Workers Compensation team managing Workers Compensation Commission litigation, work injury damages matters and advising in Workers Compensation claims.Excellent oral and written communication experience with strong people skills in order to build strong relationships with stakeholdersFlexibility to travel to the Personal Injury Commission regularly for in person appearances.
