Primary Objective: To assist with the procurement of legal services for Government and provide recruitment support to Managers and employees of the Legal Services Division.
Context Statement: Legal Services Coordination provides a range of practice management and administrative services to the Legal Services Division, including managing the process for the outsourcing of legal advice matters.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Provide administrative assistance to the Manager of the Northern Territory Legal Services List (NTLSL).
Case management of outsourced legal files.
Monitor the Legal Services generic email account and provide responses to clients as required.
Process recruitment requests and provide advice and support to recruitment panels to ensure timely outcomes.
Coordinate pre-screening processes and facilitate mandatory training obligations and probation processes for new employees.
Prepare various correspondence and reports.
Process and monitor tax invoices to ensure compliance with procurement, terms of engagement, and performance standards.
Selection Criteria: Essential: Knowledge and understanding of procurement, financial management, and legal administrative processes.
Well-developed written and oral communication skills with demonstrated experience in negotiating solutions and the ability to liaise with internal staff and other stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to interpret legislation and employment policies to enable effective processing of recruitment and human resource functions.
Sound organisational skills with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities within tight timeframes.
High level of attention to detail to maintain high standards of accuracy in checking compliance requirements.
Ability to work with minimum supervision, use initiative, and display sound professional ethics of confidentiality and discretion.
Well-developed computer literacy skills to use a range of IT software, computerized reporting systems, document management systems, and mainframe packages.
Desirable: Experience working in a legal environment.
Tertiary qualifications in Business, Human Resource Management, or a related qualification.
