About Gippsland Community Legal Service. Gippsland Community Legal Services (GCLS) is an independent non-profit service managed by Anglicare Victoria. GCLS is funded by the Federal and State Governments to deliver free legal services throughout the Gippsland region. The mission of GCLS is to improve access to justice for all members of the Gippsland Community by providing legal advice and advocacy, empowering individuals, and groups through community education, and to remove systemic injustice by advocating for law reform.
About the role. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader with qualifications in Law, Management, Social Work, Community Services or any other related fields to step into a newly created role. The role is full time and ongoing (or part time negotiable for the right applicant), based in Morwell, with ability to travel to other work sites and an attractive salary and benefits are offered.
Key responsibilities: Manage operational matters relating to the day-to-day running of the serviceWork closely with the Principal Lawyer and other leadership staff within the service to deliver high quality client centered servicesEffectively manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholdersDrive the services strategic agenda and identify areas for improvement and growthOversee the preparation, implementation and management of the budget, alongside the AV Finance ManagerProvide appropriate employee supervision to key roles within the legal serviceOversee recruitment of staffBe an active participant of the AV Gippsland Leadership team and ensure collaboration between the service and wider AV programsWhat makes this such a great role for you: This is a career defining opportunity to join one of Victoria's leading organisations that has led major change to the system through its services and impact, and is an opportunity for you to be a part of our continued journey in working and servicing the needs of vulnerable children youth and families.
