We are seeking a legal secretary or paralegal to join our personal injury department on a full-time basis.The successful candidate will be supporting a senior lawyer with a portfolio of personal injury files, including CTP, workers' compensation, public liability and TPD claims.Duties and responsibilities will include:General administrative duties, including diary and file management, arranging meetings, mediations and conferences, managing bring ups, opening and archiving files, document management and management of critical deadlines;Liaising with clients, treatment providers, expert witnesses (such as specialist Doctors), defendants and counsel;Drafting correspondence to various stakeholders (such as the Court, defendants, solicitors and relevant third parties including treatment providers, Medicare, Centrelink, WorkCover Queensland and others);Preparing matters for conference and hearing, including drafting legal documents under the guidance of a solicitor (such as pre-court Notice of Claim forms, statements, statutory declarations, Court documents and supporting Affidavits);Preparing briefs to expert witnesses, barristers, and mediators; andProcessing the Firm's invoices, third party disbursements, cheque requests and monitoring payment of Firm's accounts if required.About usWe are an established mid-tier general law practice spanning various areas of law including personal injury, conveyancing, wills and estates, litigation, family and criminal law.
