20th December, 2024 Our Role We are seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Legal Secretary / Paralegal ready to take on a senior role, leading the administration function within our Intellectual Property, Technology and Cyber Security team.
Our team advises on cutting-edge intellectual property and technology issues, including copyright and trademarks, high value IT procurement projects, complex licensing agreements, as well as privacy and data protection.
With the opportunity to work with industry experts who genuinely care about your career and development, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: creating new trademark, client/agent contacts, dispute and other records in Equinox; administrative and reporting duties relating to both foreign and domestic trademark matters; reviewing and processing all incoming and outgoing mail for patents (IP Australia, IPONZ and WIPO end of month billing and general communications with our accounts team; liaising with internal staff members, clients and overseas trademark agents; drafting IP Australia forms – extension, expedited exam, deferment, requesting a hearing; entering deadlines for various applications and processes into our specialist trademark management database;  coordinating and supporting the workloads of the team's Junior Administration Assistants; assisting solicitors in coordinating the flow of work, client relationships and other duties as required.
Prior experience working in IP and with Equinox is a must to be successful in this role.
The ideal candidate will also be highly organised, have a strong client focus and enjoy a busy and collaborative work environment.
