Department of Police, Fire and Emergency ManagementTasmania PoliceNorthern DistrictApplications must be submitted by Sunday 29 September, 2024 11:55 PM AESTAward/Classification:Tasmanian State Service Award - Legal Practitioners - Level 2$103,123.00 to $125,536.00 per annumEmployment type:Fixed-term, full-timeRegion:NorthLocation:LauncestonPeriod of Appointment:Up to 29 September 2026Hours per fortnight:73.350 hours per fortnight - talk to us about how this might work for you.Duties:The Legal Practitioner will undertake litigation on behalf of, and provide legal services and support to, the Department of Police and Emergency Management with particular emphasis on matters relating to family violence as part of the Safe at Home whole-of-government strategy for preventing, reducing, and responding to incidents of family violence in Tasmania.Admitted, or qualified for and entitled to be admitted as a Barrister or a practitioner of the Supreme Court of Tasmania under the provisions of the Legal Profession Act 2007 with more than 2 years relevant post admission experience.Pre-Employment Checks:The Head of the State Service has determined that a person nominated for appointment to this position is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer.
