Period of AppointmentFixed Term for 3 (three) years
Hours per fortnight73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.
DutiesAct as solicitor and counsel on allocated matters for Tasmania Legal Aid clients at the Magistrates Court and Supreme Court.Represent Tasmania Legal Aid clients by assisting more experienced legal practitioners in relation to complex, critical, and novel matters.Participate in performance management and file reviews as directed by the Regional Manager.Admitted or eligible for admission as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Tasmania.Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status-Employment).Experience in the practice of criminal law.Current Motor Vehicle Driver's Licence.Application ProcessTo apply, please provide a Short Form Application which is a 1-2 page covering letter outlining your experience, skills, and knowledge as they relate to the Statement of Duties, and a copy of your current Resumé/CV.
