The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) is a critical participant in the administration of justice within Western Australia, providing an independent and effective criminal prosecution and confiscation services.
The Legal Practice Support Branch provides paralegal and administrative support across a range of teams at the ODPP. This can be in Trial Teams, Children's Court, Listings, Appeals, Confiscations and general prosecution support areas.
Legal Practice Support Officers and Legal Assistants provide administrative support to legal and paralegal officers in the preparation and management of the ODPP's administrative files, prosecutions and confiscation cases.
Legal Assistants support teams with diary management, organising travel arrangements and are required to have strong word processing skills as the role provides support to prosecutors in the production of a wide range of legal documents sometimes from dictation and/or handwritten notes.
We are looking for motivated and experienced team-oriented people with strong organisation skills, the ability to multi-task and the ability to learn quickly and adapt to new systems and processes.
Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool for up to 12 months from which appointments may be made subject to business needs. Both permanent and fixed term opportunities at full time and part time may be available.
