Legal Officer

Band 6, Starting salary $88,418 (pro rata) plus superannuationThe RoleWorking in our Governance and Performance unit, you will provide accurate and timely legal and governance services to the organisation on a broad range of matters including legal services, privacy and freedom of information (FOI), governance, legislative compliance and policy.You will work closely with the team, including another Legal Officer, acting as a Privacy Officer for the City, draft and negotiate the commercial and community leases for the City, oversee and maintain the City's legislative compliance system, relevant registers and policy framework, as well support the preparation of a number of written documents.About YouTo be successful in this position, you will have experience working in a legal or governance environment where you assisted lawyers in the provision of legal services, are familiar with the preparation and operation of commercial or community leases, have the ability to understand and assist in the interpretation of Acts, regulations and subordinate instruments, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong time management and organisational skills and enjoy working in a team environment.If you hold formal qualifications in law or governance, have commercial/community leasing experience, or have Local Government experience, we welcome your application.ContactIf you require any further information regarding this position, please contact
