About the role The Legal Editor is responsible for maintaining and improving the quality and currency of legal research content across a number of publications within an assigned portfolio.

This role will require you to become our subject matter expert on the publications within your portfolio by developing close working relationships with our authors, customers and internal stakeholders, including Sales and Marketing teams.
You will have responsibility for the development and commercial success of your portfolio.
Your commercial acumen, legal qualifications, relationship management skills and ability to drive projects forward will see you stand out from the rest.
Practical legal experience and an understanding of our customers' research needs will be highly regarded.
This is a permanent full-time role open to applicants from across Australia with the possibility of combined home/office-based arrangements for the right candidate.
Responsibilities Edit manuscript to ensure accuracy, currency, relevance and consistency with house styleCoordinate with external editorial support teams to ensure smooth and timely processing of updated contentUtilise project management skills to meet publishing schedule and implement agreed plans for enhancements within commercial parametersDevelop awareness of practice area developments, legislative reforms, case law and trends impacting your portfolio and collaborate with authors to translate these developments into enhancements for our customersBuild knowledge of key customer segments including personas, behaviours, usage and expectations in order to develop and maintain content in line with customer needsRequirements Law degree or demonstrated legal practice area knowledge is highly preferred (LLB, law clerk, legal researcher, paralegal etc)Prior editing or publishing experience would be advantageousSuperior reading and legal comprehension skillsSound legal, language and grammatical abilityProven problem-solving skills and the ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationshipsAbility to work within a deadline-driven environment with high attention to detailWork in a way that works for you We promote a healthy work/life balance across the organisation.
