Introduction
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Legal Counsel to join our fantastic in-house legal team for an initial 12-month Fixed Term contract. Due to a number of upcoming projects we are flexible on background; you can either be an experienced disputes/ investigations lawyer or come from a procurement/ contracts background.
About The Role
As a legal business partner, you will provide essential legal advice and guidance on complex, high-profile projects. Your expertise will ensure that our fund complies with the Superannuation Industry Act and other regulatory obligations. You will work on disputes, investigations and/or contracts review and negotiation. This is a fully embedded legal business partnering role, and our approach with the business is one of proactivity and partnership.
Key Responsibilities
You will act as a trusted legal advisor, providing clear and strategic legal guidance on a variety of complex matters across multiple business units and stakeholder groups. You will work on high-profile projects to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations within the superannuation industry.
You will provide support to our Senior Legal Counsel team on regulatory change projects, keeping the organization up to date with evolving legal and regulatory frameworks.
About You 3-5 years post-qualification experience (PQE) gained in a well-regarded law firm or in-house environment.You will be eligible to practice law in Australia.Strong background in disputes resolution.Experience in superannuation or insurance litigation, regulatory investigations, or procurement is highly desirable.Proven ability to manage complex legal matters and deliver clear, pragmatic legal advice.Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.About Cbus
