Reporting to a Director, Legal, the Legal Counsel will be responsible for assisting the Legal team to provide high quality legal advice and services on all matters relating to the organisation's investment, operations and related business activities. This role has a particular focus on Australian and offshore structured commercial transactions including fund investments, co-investments, joint ventures, direct investments, reconstructions and disposals across a range of asset classes in both public and private markets. The Legal Counsel will work with senior members of the Legal team to ensure the organisation's investment, operations and business activities are conducted in line with international best practice, within the limits prescribed by applicable law and that the organisation's rights are fully protected through the provision of legal advice and services.
The position is a full-time role for a fixed term period of 15 months.

QualificationsA law degree from an Australian tertiary institution or other legal qualification recognised for the purpose of admission to legal practice in Victoria or another State of AustraliaAdmitted to practice in Victoria or another State of Australia as a solicitor and be currently eligible to hold a Victorian legal practising certificateExperienceExperience in a major commercial law firm and/or in-house in a high-quality commercial organisation.
