Reporting directly to the CEO, this key role works closely with the Board and senior management to foster accountability, transparency, and effective risk management within the organization.
The role will provide legal advice and support to the whole business and will be Board Secretariat.
Responsibilities: Provide Legal Counsel and Board Secretariat services to GRNSW and lead litigation services through the development and implementation of legal policy and governance frameworks.Provision of legal advice to GRNSW Management in relation to GRNSW's statutory objectives and functions and obligations.Provision of legal advice on GRNSW's existing contractual obligations with third-party service providers and stakeholders.Prepare commercial agreements (contractor agreements, service agreements to which GRNSW is a party).Prepare briefing notes to the GRNSW Management, as required, on legal issues affecting GRNSW.Monitor legislation changes affecting GRNSW and advise GRNSW Management on the impact of such changes.Review policies, with GRNSW Management, to ensure such policies comply with current legal requirements.As GRNSW Board Secretariat, prepare GRNSW Board and Subcommittee agendas, papers, and minutes.As GRNSW Board Secretariat, attend GRNSW Board and Subcommittee meetings to take meeting minutes.Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications, admission as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and holding a current, unrestricted, practising certificate; extensive experience in the preparation and provision of legal advice on complex legal issues.5+ years post-entry experience or Senior Associate level or above.Proven knowledge and experience of administrative law, including the ability to confidently interpret legislation relating to greyhound racing, animal welfare, wagering, and other laws relevant to GRNSW.Outstanding written and oral communication skills, including demonstrated influencing, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.High-level conceptual and analytical thinking skills and the capacity to develop innovative solutions for a range of complex regulatory challenges.High level personal ethics, integrity, respect for others and demonstrated understanding of the legal, prudential, and contractual requirements relevant to GRNSW.Proven ability to lead and manage change and introduce innovation to deliver best practice solutions and continuously improve regulatory outcomes.An embodiment of our values, ICARE - Integrity, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.How to Apply: To apply for this excellent opportunity please apply via Seek!
