Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this role will be responsible for the review and negotiation of contracts whilst providing sound, commercially pragmatic and timely legal advice in relation to legal aspects of organisational business lines and commercial arrangements.Key Responsibilities:Detailed understanding of contractual and legislative interpretation with practical, commercial advice on its application to the business and projects.Review tender documents and perform contract risk assessments.Negotiate contract terms with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.Develop and maintain commercial relationships with stakeholders including clients and other business partners like suppliers and subcontractors.Proactively manage claims, disputes, and litigation always with consideration of best for business options and minimal external cost.About YouThe successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:Tertiary qualified in law and current practicing certificate.3 to 7 years' experience in either private practice or an in-house legal role.Demonstrated experience in contract review and negotiation.Excellent time and stakeholder management, with ownership of deadlines and the ability to manage both priorities and stakeholder expectations.Autonomous, positive, and strong work ethic.Confident written and verbal communication and relationship building skills, with an ability to explain complex legal issues in concise and plain language at all levels within and outside of the organisation.Experience in the construction or resources sector highly desirable.How to ApplyAt Monford, our RIPPA values are the cornerstone of our culture and achievements.
