About The Role
Exciting opportunity for an experienced Legal Counsel to support our Melbourne-based legal team!
As a proactive lawyer, you'll provide expert advice on IT supplier contracts, employment matters, and M&A activities, working closely with account managers, sales, and corporate services.
Join us to navigate complex legal challenges, drive compliance, and support strategic growth across the APAC region.
This is an on-site role located 5 days a week at our Melbourne CBD office.
About You
We're seeking a mid-level Legal Counsel with at least 5 years of experience and a strong background in IT and commercial law, including matters related to software, IP, privacy and data security.
You will have a law degree and current practicing credentials in Australia, with preferred experience on the supplier/vendor side.
Prior in-house experience and project management skills are highly desirable.
You will bring:
proven experience in drafting and negotiating complex IT supplier contracts (license & support/ managed services/ SaaS).
strong foundation in commercial and corporate law, with a desire to expand into new areas.
excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Key Responsibilities
Draft, review, and negotiate supplier agreements, primarily in the utilities and communications sectors, ensuring favorable terms and compliance.
Collaborate with account managers and sales teams to deliver legal guidance aligned with business objectives.
Work closely with corporate services to align legal matters with company strategy and policies.
Offer expertise in a broad range of areas, such as employment law, mergers and acquisitions, and other corporate functions as needed.
Collaborate with our global legal team to strengthen and integrate our legal function.
