A unique opportunity has arisen to join our Corporate Solicitors Office and provide legal support initially to Bunnings and more generally as required to other parts of Wesfarmers' retail operations.
Reporting to the General Manager – Legal (Retail), you will be a part of the Wesfarmers Corporate Solicitors Office but located within Bunnings at this time. This will allow you to build an in-depth understanding of the business operations while being part of a supportive, experienced in-house legal team.
What you'll do Working closely with business stakeholders to provide commercially astute legal adviceDrafting and negotiating a range of commercial contractsProviding advice on regulatory mattersEngaging and managing external legal advisersEducating team members on legal obligations and new developmentsWhat you'll need At least 6 years post admission experience with commercial and corporate legal experience across a broad range of issuesProven experience in working with businesses to arrive at commercial outcomesDemonstrated capability in advising on commercial contracts (including technology / building / procurement contracts); privacy and data security; and competition and consumer lawAbility to prioritise in a busy environment and adopt a pragmatic approach to ensure a quick turnaround when providing adviceStrong drafting, analytical and problem-solving skillsWell-developed interpersonal and communication capabilitiesTo be humble and a team playerA curiosity to learn and develop new skillsAbout Wesfarmers As one of Australia's largest listed companies, we're proud of our longstanding contribution to Australians.
