Reporting to the Head of Legal & Company Secretary, you will be part of the supportive and friendly Risk and Governance team. You will be employed on a permanent and full-time basis.You will assist the Head of Legal & Company Secretary with legal matters, you will help to ensure Adica's adherence to regulatory requirements and ensure that legal matters are dealt with in a comprehensive and efficient manner.This opportunity will see you:Partnering and providing advice to Adica's various business units including operations, sales and partnerships, product, technology and marketing and communicationsOffering legal assistance in regulatory compliance projectsProviding advice on key financial services legislation impacting the organisation including the Corporations Act and ASIC ActDrafting, reviewing and negotiating the terms of new business contracts to support Adica's commercial activitiesWorking collaboratively with internal business units to identify and manage legal risk across a range of business initiativesDriving continuous improvement in workflow and efficiency, knowledge management and team capability in the Legal departmentThis role will be based at our St Kilda Rd Office in Melbourne. We also have a regional office in Warragul, West Gippsland.Your Skills & ExperienceIt will be essential for you to have:A current and unrestricted Australian practising certificate3 – 5 years PQE with broad experience in financial service laws and general corporate/commercial law, including Corporations Law, Australian Consumer Laws and Insurance legislationAbility to differentiate between advice of a highly technical, legalistic nature and advice that is commercially astute and comprehendible by relevant persons and to deliver the latterStrong interpersonal and communication skills with a pro-active approach to problem-solving and attention to detailAbility to work autonomously and collaboratively, both as an internal legal adviser and in liaison with external law firmsWhat We Offer At AdicaAt Adica we put people first, we strive to create a workplace where all employees feel supported and empowered.
