Above the Line Holdings supports multiple businesses, focusing on Veteran Healthcare. Driven by a culture of excellence, integrity, and collaboration, we are looking for a skilled and strategic Legal Counsel to join our team and provide expert legal guidance as we continue to grow and succeed.
Position Overview:
As Legal Counsel, you will offer comprehensive legal support across several businesses within our group. Reporting directly to the Senior Legal Counsel and supported by a full-time paralegal, this role requires a law graduate or a legal professional with a good understanding in general commercial law, compliance, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Advisory:
researching and advising on legal and regulatory matters; assisting with provision legal and commercial advice in relation to corporate, privacy and consumer law.
Contract Drafting and Review:
Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts and agreements with clients, vendors, and partners.
Policy Drafting:
Assist in the development and drafting of internal policies and procedures. Ensure policies are up-to-date with current laws and regulations.
Real Property Management:
Oversee legal aspects of the company's real estate portfolio, including freeholds, leases, acquisitions, and disposals.
Corporate Governance:
assisting with management of corporate governance, company secretarial and compliance matters.
Register Management:
Management of IP portfolio, management of disputes and complaints, meeting reporting obligations - both internal and external.
Perform any other tasks as directed by the Senior Legal Counsel.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Law degree with a current practicing certificate (required).
Expertise:
Strong knowledge of privacy law, corporate law, contract law, consumer protection law.
Skills:
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
