Legal Counsel - Funds & Investment Management LawyerTalented In-House Legal Counsel to join a growing funds management organisation specialising in both institutional and retail funds.

Working closely with the business, you will have extensive exposure to senior stakeholders, providing legal advice on a range of matters including product structuring and distribution, general corporate and commercial as well as providing regulatory risk and compliance advice.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in corporate law and funds.
This is a fast-paced, dynamic environment where exceptional communication skills and a pragmatic approach to working with the business is essential.
Key Responsibilities:Support and advise the business with respect to all legal-related matters, including identifying and managing legal and regulatory risks and issues.Support the General Counsel in the engagement of external counsel.Negotiate and draft contracts and agreements.Review marketing and communications materials for compliance with internal guidelines and applicable regulations.Conduct legal research and monitor key regulatory developments relevant to the business and our clients to inform key stakeholders, internal reporting, and ultimately, implementation and execution.Support the delivery of legal, risk, and compliance training and awareness initiatives.Assist the legal, risk, and compliance team in regulatory examinations, operational due diligence, and corporate audits as required.Prepare Board/Committee/Working Group papers as relevant to the role.Conduct compliance and risk monitoring activities.Assist with the review and maintenance of risk and compliance documents, including frameworks, scheme compliance plans, risk registers, policies, procedures, and operating guidelines as required.Experience and Qualifications4+ years post qualified experience from a top-tier law firm and/or in-house experience.Financial services experience within Australian funds management.Proven experience with product design and distribution obligations, privacy and information security highly desirable.Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships with and earn the respect and trust of key stakeholders.Ability to communicate with impact.High level of professional and personal integrity.Please send your resume in confidence to Aislyn Jennings, Executive Search Partner, at or call for a confidential discussion .
