Legal Counsel - Front-End Construction & Infrastructure A front-end role focused on bid-winning and tendering for a range of construction and infrastructure projects.
Take ownership over upstream bidding phase, including supply chain and procurement arrangements. Transport, defence, and energy projects (including renewables/new energy) will feature without specific designations down asset class or location lines. Recent project delivery has cemented them as a preferred player, balancing stability with the responsiveness required in the current market. Consistent profitability despite a challenging contractor-hostile climate. A permanent appointment with a track record of mobility across legal functions, enabling access to project delivery-oriented roles. A relatively flat structure with reporting to a technically strong Head of Legal, and strong access to the GC, commercial managers, and the executive. Culture of 'see a problem, fix a problem', aiming to remove bureaucracy and red tape. The legal team has secured a trusted seat at the decision-making table, ensuring strong commercial integration into the business. Being a fully integrated national team, this position can be based in Sydney, Brisbane, or Melbourne. About You Ideally, you will be an experienced legal counsel or new senior legal counsel (6 – 10 years PAE). Demonstrable front-end experience, particularly around the bidding and 'work-winning' aspect of sophisticated infrastructure, engineering, and construction projects. Additional experience in the post-award project delivery phase is highly regarded. In-house experience or exposure to in-house through a solid secondment is preferred. If moving from practice, you should come from a respected construction practice with a contractor focus. Interested? Please apply using the button above or email me directly at . You could also call/text me on for a confidential discussion.
If the above is in the right wheelhouse but not quite what you're after at this time, feel free to drop me a line anyway - we can have a confidential discussion about what good would look like for you, and I can keep you informed as/when the right thing arises.
