SLR Consulting has a great opportunity for a Legal Counsel to join our friendly and hard-working team ideally on a full-time basis.
Using your previous experience, you will work within the Contracts & Risk team providing efficient and reliable assistance to our technical consultants and clients.
Key Responsibilities: Draft and negotiate consultancy services contracts, standard form contracts / subcontracts and other commercial agreements.Analyse contracts to ensure they comply with statutory regulations, insurance obligations and our QMS / policy requirements.Independently review and provide advice on contracts and agreements, leases, and other commercial documents.Analyse potential risks involved with specific contracts terms and conditions and escalate any risk concerns where required.Participate in technical and/or professional associations and stay up to date with legislative changes.Review and maintain contract terms and conditions and provide input to insurance policy renewals.Work efficiently and effectively with third parties to ensure statutory compliance and minimize contractual risk and exposure.Deliver a high standard of work, ensuring deadlines are met and clients are kept informed.Create regular status reports regarding progress on projects.Contribute to training programs for non-legal staff.Skills and experience: A minimum of 4 years' experience in either an in-house legal team of an engineering/environmental science consultancy, or within a commercial law firm will be highly regarded.
The ideal candidate will also have:
