You will provide advice to our Consumer Finance stakeholders to support the delivery of products including credit cards and personal loans.
You may also support payments, online banking, mobile app, complimentary credit card insurance, and marketing for these products.
This role also supports the development of new products in these areas and digital distribution of our products.
The main challenge of the role will be to ensure that the Consumer Finance Domain is getting simpler and more customer and banker focused whilst still meeting legal and regulatory requirements.
You will work closely with a supportive team of talented lawyers to ensure stakeholders receive timely legal support to deliver great outcomes for NAB and its customers.
Key responsibilities: Provide subject matter expertise and legal counsel to the Consumer Finance domain in accordance with the priorities set by the Executive, White Label Partnerships, and Unsecured Lending Consumer Finance domain, Personal Bank.Ensure that the Consumer Finance domain is getting simpler and more customer and banker focused whilst meeting legal and regulatory requirements.Balance legal requirements with simplicity and automation.Ensure that expert legal support is available to the Consumer Finance domain.On occasion, this role may be asked to provide legal advice to the Home Ownership domain.What you will bring You are an experienced lawyer who thrives on legal excellence and professionalism in actively managing legal risk in line with commercial and strategic priorities.
You have excellent stakeholder management expertise, underpinned by first-class communication and influencing skills.
A highly motivated individual who strives to consistently provide high quality, commercially relevant legal services, you also have:
Bachelor of Laws qualification and admission to legal practice in Australia, with a minimum of 5 years PQE.Demonstrated experience in advising on financial services regulatory matters (in particular National Consumer Credit Protection Act requirements) essential.Experience and maturity to work autonomously and juggle competing demands in a very busy and energized environment.Excellent organisational skills, including prioritisation and time management.By joining NAB and our Consumer Finance Legal team, you are committing to putting our customers' needs first every time.
