Seeking PQE Lawyer with Tech and Commercial ExperienceWe are seeking a 4-7 PQE lawyer with tech and commercial experience for an in-house role, with an ideal commencement of late February/early March 2025. We are open to the role being full time or part time. The role may be located in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane or Canberra.
About the Legal Counsel – Commercial RoleThe Legal Counsel – Commercial supports Alcidion's operations by managing regulatory, contractual, and commercial risks across Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. This includes advising on leasing, supplier contracts, insurance, employment law, and strategic initiatives including M&A.
The Legal Counsel – Commercial reports to the COO and is the sole legal resource internally. Key responsibilities involve:
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts for software licensing and professional servicesAdvising on government tendersProtecting intellectual propertyEnsuring regulatory complianceManaging supplier relationshipsOverseeing external legal providersMitigating legal risksProviding strategic advice to management and the boardAbout AlcidionWe're transforming healthcare together Alcidion develops innovative solutions that address the problems challenging healthcare organisations around the world today. Your background includes:
4–7 years PQE with in-house experience in a technology company or in a commercial/tech law firm practice in AustraliaExpertise in drafting and negotiating contracts, including SaaS agreements, Terms of Service, and partnership agreementsExperience with procurement agreementsKnowledge of intellectual property and privacy lawThe following will be considered favourably:
Experience handling commercial/legal issues for a small to medium-sized, ASX-listed, global companyLaw degree with admission to practice in the UK and/or New ZealandCombined law degree with a business or financial qualificationFamiliarity with healthcare regulations, including medical device lawsHow to ApplyTo apply, submit a covering letter explaining why you would love to work for Alcidion and your CV to ******.
