Legal Assistants/Paralegals - Personal Injury Law (Workers Compensation) At Gordon Legal, our commitment to social justice drives everything we do. We are seeking passionate Legal Assistants/Paralegals to join our Workers Compensation/WorkCover team in Melbourne, on a part-time or full-time basis.
These roles are ideal for law students with experience in legal support or administration who are looking for graduate opportunities upon completing their studies. Successful candidates will be considered for future graduate positions.

Job tasks and responsibilities Provide legal administrative and practice management support to Lawyers in the Workers Compensation/Workcover team; Drafting court documents, preparing/compiling briefs, letters and correspondence; Filing Court Documents; Diary, email and task management; Arrange meetings and appointments; Liaise with clients, law firms, barristers, court staff, insurers, doctors and other third parties; General file management and work with the lawyer to advance files and achieve optimal file velocity; Monitor critical dates to ensure deadlines are met; Handle telephone, general enquiries and requests from clients; Skills and experience Experience in administration is required; Experience in Workers Compensation/Workcover is highly regarded; Empathetic, confident and personable with a genuine interest in Personal Injury Law; Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; High level of professionalism, exceptional client service skills and ability to handle sensitive/confidential information with appropriate care; Advanced organisational and task management skills, ability to manage conflicting priorities and respond to rapidly changing needs of a fast-paced practice; Ability to confidently and professionally communicate with clients, referrers, health professionals, Courts, barristers, lawyers and Government agencies; Technology-savvy and proficient in all Microsoft Office applications; Ability to show initiative; An interest in contributing to developing, maintaining and refining systems and processes within the practice.
