We are looking for a career-focused legal assistant who is passionate about providing a great service to our lawyers and clients.The successful candidate will be responsible for:attending to and assisting lawyers with settlements;telephone handling for the team;calendar management and booking of meetings, travel and accommodation;general accounts work including month end billing, preparation of trust receipts and cheque forms;managing client file maintenance for the team, including file opening, conflict searches and closing files;conducting searches (e.g.
company, title, property certificates);coordinating incoming and outgoing correspondence;maintaining Partners'/Lawyers' contacts in our firm CRM InterAction, including assisting with list management on their behalf for events and communications;liaising with internal and external stakeholders;helping to organise team presentations and events;assisting other legal assistants as required; andother ad-hoc administration duties as needed.About youYou will ideally have the following skills and experience:a minimum of 1 year of legal assistant experience within a law firm;experience supporting fee-earners in a property law practice;excellent communication skills;strong organisational / time management skills;ability to work under pressure and manage a high-volume workload, as needed;a strong ability to prioritise and meet deadlines; andexperience using Filesite (iManage), Aderant, PEXA and Duties Online is preferred.About usHall & Wilcox is a leading independent Australian law firm.
