Legal Assistant - Insurance & Compensation Legal Assistant - Insurance & Compensation We are seeking to appoint an experienced and passionate Legal Assistant to join our Insurance & Compensation team in Melbourne. 
The successful applicant will be dynamic, vibrant and ready to work in a busy and client focused team. Key to this role is a high level of attention to detail, exceptional organisation skills, and an enthusiastic and positive approach to work.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: •Preparing and typing legal papers and correspondence of a legal nature such as affidavits, writs, statements of claim, defences, summonses, complaints, briefs to counsel, motions and subpoenas from draft or dictated text;
•Arranging service and follow-up of service of legal documents;
•Arranging appointments, ensures deadlines are met, maintains Lawyer's diary etc;
•Creating and maintaining files – file management of substantial amounts of documents.
•Dealing with clients and client queries in a polite and friendly manner;
•Liaising with barristers, clients, interpreters, Principals, Lawyers and staff;
•Providing Lawyer(s) with feedback as to the status of work.
Skills / Knowledge: •Strong attention to detail.
•Excellent literacy and communication skills.
•Excellent organisational and administrative ability.
•Advanced knowledge of MS Word for Windows, knowledge of PowerPoint and internet web skills. FileSite and CaseFlow knowledge essential.
•Wide knowledge of the Victorian WorkCover Authority practice.
•Experience with VWA database preferred.
