National Graduate ProgramGaining entrance to the Graduate Program at Maurice Blackburn means an exciting start to your legal career in one of Australia's leading social justice law firms. The 12-month Graduate Program provides a broad range of training designed to give you insight into all aspects of plaintiff law. The program encourages active participation and contribution which enables you to be rewarded with excellent training opportunities, tangible professional development and an insight into life at Maurice Blackburn. The Program has been specifically designed to combine formal training with invaluable hands-on experience. If required, Maurice Blackburn will also support you to complete Practical Legal Training (PLT), a necessary requirement for admission.
The Program is a national program with Graduates placed across various practice areas and locations nationally. The program will be a 12-month placement with a practice area, giving the ability to create in-depth knowledge and experience in that area of law. You will work closely with senior lawyers and partners, and other internal and external experts, and be able to build lasting relationships through legal networking events. As a Law Graduate, we encourage you to shadow experienced lawyers, attend court and client meetings, and even brief counsel.

This program offers hands-on practical experience and insight into working in the legal industry over a 12-month period. This highly successful program has been running since 2008 and includes:
An active learning environment with ongoing training opportunities;A dedicated coach to support you throughout the program.You will have a Coach and a People & Culture representative who will be there every step of the way to ensure you are supported for the duration of this program. Your Coach will share their knowledge, provide regular feedback, and guide you to be able to work independently as a Legal Support Professional.
You will be provided with in-depth training on:

About the role We are seeking a dedicated Legal Assistant to join our Superannuation & Insurance Claims team in Traralgon on a full-time, permanent basis. With a flexible hybrid work arrangement, you'll have the option to work both from home and in the office.
The successful candidate will be willing to grow and develop their skills in a busy role whilst using their strong client service skills to support our clients. Key Responsibilities: Answer all incoming client enquiries and assist or transfer calls where appropriate;Provide accurate updates and information to clients within a timely manner and manage expectations;Manage the administration of all client files from open to close;Produce client correspondence and prepare court documents as requested;Arrange and manage diaries, appointments and meetings;Action all incoming mail;Prepare bills for clients;Any other generalist administrative tasks as requested.The experience we are looking for: Experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal in a plaintiff law firm or assistant in a professional services firm is desirable;Excellent organisational and time management skills;Ability to multi-task, prioritise and work under pressure;The ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team;Enthusiasm and initiative;Confidence in fast-paced environments with tenacity to meet deadlines;High attention to detail;Excellent and tactful communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal);Proven ability to build strong relationships;Able to use judgement about escalation of issues/information to Supervisor;Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.Our People Commitment comes with the following benefits: Ongoing coaching and career development opportunities;22 Weeks Parental leave with your superannuation guaranteed and back-to-work transition policy;End of Year leave, 1 day first year, 4 days after 2 years;Comprehensive mental health framework, including wellbeing leave (up to 4 extra days per year) and $299 reimbursement;Discounted gym membership;A hybrid flex working model;Salary Continuance & Life Insurance;17.5% Annual Leave Loading.… just to name a few. *T's & C's apply.
